Color memory test
A color is easy to recognize while it is in front of you. Remembering its exact hue is a different challenge. Look closely at the target, let it disappear, then move through the spectrum until your choice feels right. The reveal puts both colors together, turning a vague feeling into a visible comparison. This free color memory game runs in your browser and needs no account. Three practice rounds help you discover which parts of the spectrum are easiest for you to recall.
How scoring works
The game uses the shortest distance between your hue and the target around the color wheel. Subtract 1.5 points from 100 for each degree of hue error, round to a whole number, and stop at zero. Neighboring reds on opposite ends of the slider are correctly treated as close.
A little head start
Notice a color’s neighbors: is that green leaning toward yellow or toward blue? A specific comparison can be easier to remember than a broad color name.
Use the same screen and brightness when comparing your own runs. Night modes and display settings can change how colors appear.
Good questions
Is this a color blindness test?
No. It is a memory game using screen colors. It cannot diagnose color vision or replace a professional vision assessment.
Does the game test brightness and saturation too?
This version focuses on hue. It keeps the other color settings fixed so that the challenge has one clear control and a transparent scoring rule.
Does a high score prove I have a perfect eye for color?
It shows that you matched the colors in that run closely. It is not a professional color qualification or a general measure of visual ability.
